REMOVAL OF CLASHING EXAMS
by Grace Kinyanjui-Njeru - Thursday, 11 May 2017, 10:45 AM

Dear All,

Greetings.

In a bid to promote quality, uphold standards and secure integrity in our examinations, we are continuously reviewing and improving on the processes. After wide consultations with various stakeholders and in consideration of the inconveniences and pressure that clashing exams has been presenting to students as per numerous visits to our office and complaints received on the same, PLEASE NOTE THAT CLASHING EXAMS HAVE BEEN SCRAPPED OFF FROM THE DISTANCE LEARNING EXAMINATIONS SCHEDULE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. In this regard, deferred exams due to late fees payment and those missed due to various reasons will only be taken when not clashing with another exam at the same time in the DL mode of study. The other arrangement is to do these exams if available in any other campus or on any other mode of study after seeking clearance with the DL office.

The examination days and timings will remain as usual: Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the examinations week as provided in the academic calendar. The first exam from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and the second exam from 11:30 to 1:30 pm.

For your noting: The policy indicates that students should not book the units that they had deferred exams from previous semester. Failure to, they will be charged twice for booking the deferred exams in the current semester.

We also take this opportunity to welcome you to this May-Aug, 2017 Semester and wish you well in your studies.

Regards,

Director-Distance & Elearning Programmes.
